What travelers are saying
"Colombia blew us away. The cliff jumping was thrilling and the crystal-clear water was perfect for cooling off. The underground caves were magical. An absolute must-do on Colombia."

"The Zipaquira Salt Cathedral was unreal. Descending 200 meters into the underground mines to see a fully functioning cathedral carved out of salt was unforgettable. A must-do from Bogota."
Colombia is a natural cenote in Colombia. Two freshwater lagoons connected by an underground tunnel, 32 meters deep with crystal-clear turquoise water. It offers cliff jumping (10m), a zipline, cave exploration, and a Taino archaeological cave.
A classic 2-week route: Cartagena (3 days), Santa Marta and Tayrona (3 days), Medellin (3 days), Salento and Eje Cafetero (3 days), Bogota (2 days). Domestic flights are cheap. Avianca, Latam and Viva all connect the main cities.
Public parks range from $61 to $150 per person including food and drinks. Day passes at resort parks vary. Catamaran cruises and snorkel trips start from around $50 per person with lunch and open bar included.
The cliff jump is approximately 10 meters and you jump at your own risk. Life jackets are available for rent (DOP 50). There is also a safer kids area with shallower water. The zipline drops you into the lagoon from about 10 meters. You must sign a waiver for the zipline.
The dry seasons are December to March and July to August. December to March has the best Caribbean weather in Cartagena. April to June and September to November are shoulder season with occasional rain but cheaper prices and fewer crowds.
Nearby attractions include Playa Grande (15 min), Playa Diamante natural pool (5 min), El Saltadero waterfall (10 min), Laguna Gri Gri mangrove tours in Rio San Juan (20 min), and Parque Nacional Cabo Frances Viejo. The 27 Charcos de Damajagua is about 2 hours away.
Colombia is open every day from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The best time to visit is on weekday mornings to avoid crowds. Weekends can get busy with local Dominican visitors.
